Why am I still afraid of monsters?
People at my age may suffer from sleep anxiety while I'm scared to fall asleep.
It’s because of the fear of monsters that hide under my bed.
It’s because of the fear of monsters that hide under my bed.
Since I was young, I used to think that these thoughts will fade away when I grow older as the years go by ,but wait, I'm old now.
I don't think this thought will ever leave my head. I feel that I'm the odd one out.
But let's take it seriously why the fear of monster under the bed is common amoung adults too?
From my point of view:
1. The extreme fear of darkness can cause anxiety and depression. However, it's better for your mental health to sleep in a dark room.
2. Overthinking before sleeping can cause anxiety to your brain and fuel your imagination by creating monsters in every shallow you see in your middle dark room.
3. Scary movies can also cause nightmares and I defintely don't recommend watching horror movies right before bed as brainstorming can generate images of creepy creatures that may stick in your mind all night and I do believe that imagination is a very powerful part of the human mind.
4. Usually, the idea of hearing everything during your sleep beause of EHS won't really help you to get a better night's sleep.
You may hear strange sounds and you have no idea Where the hell are these noises come from ?
Sounds Like furniture creak or footsteps that make you think the monsters already quite welcome and it's distrubing your sleep as well.
Even if you don't related to this as an adult, I'm pretty sure we all keep our legs under the blanket and make sure that our legs aren't sticking out before falling asleep.
